What should i do on a day trip to san frnasisco?

i am going to San Francisco but only spending the day. i am a college student with limited money. this will be my first time in san fran and want to at least drive over the golden gate bridge, eat somewhere fun and visit some sort of park or garden. what should i do? HELP
